Celebration of the life and legacy of Doctor/Attorney Mayer Eisenstein
Folks, I apologize for the lack of promptness here. It has been over a month since Heaven gained another angel, and left our community in a tailspin. Song for Mayer
About three days before Christmas, he was taken home to our Creator. He felt ill that day, and about ten minutes after uttering those words, he was gone. No warning. Nothing was wrong. No one saw it coming.
I have ten million more questions! I am so heartbroken. I cannot fathom what arrogance I had in my heart to assume that he would just BE there. I talked to him a few days before. I asked for a professional reference for a PR gig at a local chiropractor’s office. Why didn’t I pick his giant brain more? Because I thought he was always there for me, and our community. A patriarch. *weeps*
He was a Medical Doctor already breaking the status quo by attending homebirths for decades. He also had his own pediatric practice, where he had 10,000 patients the last time I checked. After being mentored by the late Dr. Mendelsohn, he had an awakening. He realized that the CDC’s vaccine schedule was not the gold standard of medicine that we assumed it was, without checking on the safety and efficacy of vaccines. He obtained an third degree by going to night school, at the same time as his son! He got his Juris Doctorate, and he obtained his law licence.
Now he was more than a formidable foe; he held simultaneously degrees in Medicine, Law and a Masters of Public Health. I always told him privately that he was an intellectual rockstar. He was truly qualified like no one else I can point to currently to understand the multi-tentacled tyranny we face by the medical industrial complex, which had its filthy claws in everything from hygiene products to food safety. Everything is infected.
Mayer is the only reason I can think of to go to Chicago. It is a hellhole. But when you go to see him, or see him speak…suddenly it is paradise. He shines like a supernova in a room of other people. Radiant! It is infectiously positive. Oh! And speaking of how positive he is, let me tell you a story. If you think that you can call the patriarch and complain about X, Y and Z…forget it. He will LISTEN, just as he listens to his patients. He never assumed that he knows what is best for anyone. He rises above anything negative. He takes your negative energy and transmutes it into something positive with a Midas touch! He reminds you of what you have, of your value and where you are going. There is no way to bring down someone so positive. He will not engage in low-brown-hater-ad hominem attacks. Non-negotiable. He was the epitome of class and integrity.
But if you really know Mayer, you know that the only thing that actually matters is his family. The cornerstone of this was his wife, who he praised every moment he had the chance. He said that she was the wind beneath his wings, that they began their courtship when she was like 16. She was his one and only. I once told him he was a hero for attending homebirths. He said, my wife is the real hero. Me? No way.
On Project Socrates, I will have Atty Alan Philps and Neil Z Miller. We will share some memories, and also discuss the current measles hysteria.
