Homeless Parking Meter – YouTube

The mainstream media tells us that the economy is recovering and  there’s a myriad of non-profits vying for your spare change in name of making change for the homeless. Some are better than others and some are a scam. The idea of modifying a parking meter is an interesting concept, but I’m banking on there being a lot more parking meters collecting parking fees for the local municipalities than there are for collecting money for the homeless. My friend James Worley in Florida has been homeless for more than a year. When I first met James Worley he was one of the few people that was lucky enough to film an off-the-cuff video and have it go viral. He had his brief 15 minutes of fame when he was interviewed on a mainstream news broadcast. He’s a guy with a big heart who is interested in producing documentaries about things he is passionate about such as our veterans and homelessness.

James is a man with no bad habits such drugs, alcohol, or tobacco and knows how to ‘keep his powder dry’ so he can continue his quest as a passionate videographer. Please support James in his quest by sharing and subscribing to his YouTube channel.

He got the results he wanted along with a $48,000 fine. Fortunately he didn’t have to make a trip to the slammer.

Bi-directional OLED camera foreshadow 1984 telescreens

George Orwell’s book 1984 chronicled the experiences of Winston, an employee working for Big Brother’s government branch called the Ministry of Truth. Since Winston worked for the government he was a member of the bourgeois class and was privileged to live in a section of the city that was heavily subsidized by Big Brother and provided the basic life comforts along with safety and security. But there was a dark side to this lifestyle; every home, shop, corner cafe, barroom, street corner, and one’s living quarters were constantly overlooked by the insidious telescreens cameras. The telescreen cameras were both a blessing and a curse providing you with up to minute news and information that was heavily sanitized by Winston’s Ministry of Truth. The telescreens watched your every move instructing when to wake up and when to go to bed. The telescreen monitored your health and well being and made sure you had a regular exercise routine once a week upon rising from bed. If you fast forward 30 years we have a culture that is gradually and incrementally approaching this norm, especially the United States where almost every home has at least 2 computers with high speed cable access and not to mention almost all U.S. citizens carry one or more cell phones. The displays in consumer electronics aren’t quite literally watching us back, but that soon may change. “We first covered the Fraunhofer Institute’s bi-directional OLED display technology – which basically combines a display with a camera – all the way back in 2009”. “” via Fraunhofer bi-directional OLED prototype incoming: Display & Camera in one [Video] – SlashGear.

3D printing – Cast uses ultrasound to speed healing

For anyone who has ever broken a bone and had to have a cast, the benefits are obvious.  It was snowing at the time I broken a bone  in my foot.  I had to have my walking 3D printing - New method of casting broken bones cast replaced a couple times as I was unable to keep it dry.   The delight of being able to scratch that itch.  How much healthier for the skin this will be.

We have so many nefarious uses of technology these days through weapons, 3D printing makes technology SERVE humans.  Another article I saw this year was creating a moving “hand” for a small boy.  He was able to grasp things with that hand since birth.

It is refreshing and encouraging to come across articles like these.

More than 50 political leaders from nine states convened for the first time to talk about their joint goal: wresting control of oil-, timber -and mineral-rich lands away from the feds.

“We have to start managing these lands. It’s the right thing to do for our people, for our environment, for our economy and for our freedoms,” Fielder said.Politics and YOU

It seems the Bundy Ranch issue has lit a fire under state lawmakers and legislators.  With all I have personally seen in the past three years, I think this is the most encouraging leap forward I have observed.  We will have to see how “strong” their convictions are.

We are a United States and strong states make for a strong union.  The federal government has botched everything they have touched since 1913.  It is time to take make the union of our states strong again.

Monsanto and co. pouring money into defeating county measure to ban GMOs — RT USA

Monsanto and co. pouring money into defeating county measure to ban GMOs — RT USA.

Big Agribusiness teams up and doles out almost a half of a million dollars to combat a proposed local ordinance in Oregon which would prohibit the use of GMOs from being propagated, cultivated, raised or grown in Jackson County.

With a small local population of 208.545, this may be enough to wine and dine each resident of Jackson County for their vote against Measure 15-119! Compare nearly $500,000 with the meager $102.368 raised by local proponents of the measure, and you can see the influence big agri business has on the local ballot.

Monsanto Request Removal of Mexican Judge over GM Maize Ban – Sustainable Pulse

Will Monsanto win and have influence over governmental agencies in Mexico like they do here in the states ?  I hope they don’t pick up any bad habits from US.  I am glad to see other countries looking after our environment.  Perhaps the US will learn.

Monsanto Request Removal of Mexican Judge over GM Maize Ban – Sustainable Pulse.

The Mexican federal government had allowed trial crops of GM maize to be planted in Mexico since 2009 before the shock decision in September made by the Twelfth Federal District Court for Civil Matters of Mexico City. Judge Jaime Eduardo Verdugo J. cited “the risk of imminent harm to the environment” as the basis for the decision.
